Overview of 3M™ Bayonet Particulate Prefilters

3M™ Bayonet Particulate Prefilters are designed to attach to 3M™ Bayonet Style Gas & Vapor Cartridges (6000 series) to provide particulate protection from certain solid and liquid particles when used with 3M™ Bayonet Style Facepieces. To connect the filters, use the 3M™ Filter Retainer 501, which securely attaches one filter to each cartridge.

• After determining contaminants and exposure levels, ensure your employees are equipped with a properly fitted 3M™ Reusable Respirator and corresponding N95 or P95 particulate filters.
• NIOSH-Approved: These filters meet NIOSH standards as either N95 or P95 particulate filters, offering respiratory protection in environments containing certain oil (P95) and non-oil (N95) based particulates.

Performance and Limitations

The filters provide respiratory protection against particulate contaminant concentrations:

• Up to 10 times the OSHA Permissible Exposure Limit (PEL) with half facepieces.
• Up to 50 times the OSHA Permissible Exposure Limit (PEL) with quantitatively fit-tested full facepieces.

Important Notes:

• Not suitable for environments classified as immediately dangerous to life or health (IDLH).
• Not approved for use in settings requiring a filter with 100-level efficiency (e.g., N100 or P100).
• Replace filters if they become dirty, damaged, or difficult to breathe through.
