Sea Gear opened in 1986 to supply the Cape May fleet, and the commercial counter still runs the same way: pot haulers and Hydroslave blocks, dredge shoe bolts and twine tops, hog rings by the box, knives that hold an edge through a trip. Gus Genovese ran a purse seiner out of this port. Chuck and Renee opened the shop in his name, and forty years on the fleet still buys here.

Sea Gear Tip: Weak links and snubbers are consumables. Buy them by the dozen before the season, not one at a time in July when the whole dock is at the counter.
